BECU Movies@Marymoor summer lineup offers variety entertainment, big-screen flicks


Have a picnic, enjoy variety entertainment, play movie trivia and soak up the beauty of King County’s Marymoor Park this summer at the BECU Movies@Marymoor, presented by Overlake Medical Center & Clinics.      

Now in its 14th season, the series runs weekly on Wednesdays or Thursdays from June 28 through Aug. 29. 

Opening night is June 28 featuring live music by Aaron J. Shay and the classic family adventure film, “The Goonies.” The series continues on July 5 with variety entertainment, movie trivia and 2017 superhero hit “Wonder Woman” on the big screen. 

Next up is live music by The Sweet Goodbyes and the adventure comedy “Jumanji” on July 11, the animated sensation “Coco” on July 18, and cirque style entertainment by Strangely and the musical hit “The Greatest Showman” on July 25.

In August, the locally filmed romantic-comedy “10 Things I Hate About You” shows on Aug. 2, followed on Aug. 8 by touring musician Brian Ernst and the Marvel action-comedy “Thor: Ragnarok.”  The family animated favorite “Ferdinand” will show on Aug. 15 followed by the Marvel hit “Black Panther” on Aug. 22 and outdoor cinema favorite “The Princess Bride” on Aug. 29 for the series finale. 

All BECU Movies@Marymoor events feature a movie trivia contest, a selection of variety entertainment and food trucks including Charlie’s Buns n’ Stuff, Buddha Bruddah mixed plates, Express Mexican Kitchen, Cheese Wizards, Caramia’s Sweetie Treaties and Custom Kettle Corn.   

Movies are shown on a 40-foot movie screen. All events are “bring your own seating,” dog friendly and smoke free. Admission is $5 per person with kids age 5 and under free. Seating opens at 6:30 p.m., and movies start at dusk. Parking is $5 per vehicle.
